German Main Banks Branches and ATMs at Munich International Airport

German Main Banks Branches and ATMs at Munich International AirportBeing the second busiest airport after Frankfurt’s and handling around 40 million passengers per year, Munich International Airport (MUC) is located in the capital of Bavaria. How to use ATM there and what are fees?

ATMs in Munich airports work the same way as everywhere and the machines support English language option (usually fitst screen before entering a PIN code). Before you withdraw cash, make sure that you:

Choose the right ATM

There are two major networks operating cards – Visa and MasterCard. If you look at your card, you will see one of these symbols, either Plus or Cirrus. Plus is owned by Visa and Cirrus belongs to MasterCard. So ATM should have the same symbols on it to accept your card.

Bank Fees

If your card’s currency is different, the cash will be exchanged at the wholesale exchange rate which is always better than the rate at any local currency exchange. As for the fees, usually your home bank is the one that charges for using a foreign ATM. It varies from bank to bank. Average fee is either a flat fee (between $1-$5) or a percentage of the withdrawal (1-2%). So before you go abroad, contact your bank and obtain the information on transaction fees overseas.
